Bracket Turnaround
My bracket has recovered from its disastrous first round and 3 of my Final Four picks are correct. That's not bad considering that only one No. 1 seed is in the final four. Also, my finalists are still alive. I have Oklahoma St. playing Duke with OSU winning.
The hardest part of my week at school has now passed. I had a database test today that was somewhat difficult. I still have a Geometry test on Friday. I would like to have Taco HTML Edit 1.6.0 released before summer break starts, but that might not be possible.

Something
It's been a long time since I last posted, so I guess that I better say something. I've got three tests this week and a bunch of other stuff. Next week is looking better. Hopefully, I will then be able to focus on my databases course extension. I am writing a twenty page paper on XML and related stuff. I am also giving a 40 minute presentation on it =(. Oh yeah,
Something!

Poor Dog
Over Spring Break, my family's dog, Pepper, had some issues with chewing on her feet. I thought some of you might be interested in this picture of the end result:

Bracket in Shambles
Well, it would appear that once again, my bracket, which looked so good before the tournament, has fallen to pieces. There have been very few upsets this year, and nothing worked out right for me. It'll still be interesting to see how my picks for the later rounds fare.
In other news, I have to go back to school Monday, which is not such a good thing. I'm gonna be busy once again. I need to figure out what Fall Semester classes to sign up for.

Picks
It's that time of the year again. The NCAA Men's basketball tournament starts in 11 hours, 39 minutes, so I've decided that I've waited long enough to unveil my picks. Before you look at them, be forewarned that this will effectively ruin all surprises for the tourney. After seeing this, you'll just realize how much sense it makes; there's no way these picks could be wrong. Anyway, here's the link. Enjoy!

Taco HTML Edit Beta
Guess what? There's a public beta of Taco HTML Edit available now. It should hopefully be particularly useful to those of you who use PHP. It works with the PHP Command Line Interface to do previewing and syntax checking for PHP files. There are a few known issues in this beta:
- Using "Preview With Browser" with PHP files does not work correctly (it just uses the browser it would normally use for Preview).
- Live Preview should always refresh when re-opened (a minor bug).
- The text is not always redrawn correctly when deleting selected text (an annoying issue).

Living Water Design
I've started re-designing the Living Water website. So far, I've mainly been focussing on making "boxes". This is what I currently have:

I think that it is looking too plain. I've decided that I want to get rid of the "stained glass" from the original, but now it is too ordinary. I'm planning on adding a lot of images to the site. Maybe that would compensate.
On a side note, you will notice that I did not include any part of the browser/OS in my partial screenshot. This is generally a good practice when you want people to focus on your content rather than your platform.

Sick
I've been feeling a little sick since Thursday evening, but I've gotten a little work done. I've been messing around with some ideas for the design of the Living Water site. The problem is that I'm not very artistic. I want to start messing around with Taco HTML Edit on Jaguar soon. I need to fix some problems with preview and preview preferences (two separate problems). It turns out that Taco HTML Edit doesn't always work so well on computers with multiple partitions.

Handi-Snackage

Now that's what I like to call efficient use of the meal plan. All surplus funds go toward the emergency Handi-Snack supply.

Tomorrow
I need to study for my optimization test tomorrow. After that, the rest of the week should not be too stressful. I even get to sleep in Friday because Geometry is cancelled. I heard from the computer science graduate director today. He had to talk to the Miami grad. school to see if I could enter the cs program as if I was doing a combined cs bs/ms and that's a lot of *s acronyms. He told me that I can apply for the program at the graduate school. I'm not exactly certain if that means that I'm in, but it seems like it. I should do that on Thursday.

RajDoshi.com
I bought the domain name RajDoshi.com, so you can use that if you'd like. I bought the domain name from a much cheaper site than the one that I normally use, so I don't feel too bad about it. The only problem is that the masked domain forwarding just uses a frame, so I now must include target="_top" in all of my anchor tags.

One more busy week
Next week is the last before Spring Break. I have a lab report, a test, some papers to grade, and a few other things to do. My goal is to release the public beta of Taco HTML Edit during the break. I also think that I am going to redesign the Living Water site to make it look more professional. Oh, that's right, I also have to call Logos on Monday because they said that they want to interview me for an internship. Washington state is a long ways away, but I guess I won't worry about that until I actually get an offer. Hmmm, there is still that whole networking project too.

No More Comments
Well, spambots have started posting comments with obscene advertisements, so comments have been turned off for now. The next version of Movable Type will have support for a comment login system, so perhaps comments will then be reinstated. I renewed my domain registration, so it looks like tacosw.com will be around for five more years...well, at least assuming that I continue to pay the web site host. I am tempted to purchase a new domain name, which I believe was once owned by someone. I am somewhat hesitant to mention the name because I don't want someone to "steal" it, but if anyone wants it that bad, they can take it. The name is rajdoshi.com. If I bought it, I would have it forward to this journal. Let me know what you think of the idea. Just post a...ummmm...send an email, I guess.

Taco HTML Edit Progress Report
I mentioned in my last post that I was trying to optimize the syntax checker, and I can now report that I have succeeded. The solution is somewhat unusual, so I'm not going to try to explain it. I think that there will be another beta, but it is going to be a public beta. I still have some issues with Jaguar that I need to get worked out before the next beta is released. In the mean time, I'm thinking that Taco HTML Edit could use a good slogan. Here are some options:
- Taco HTML Edit - Billions and billions of bits served.
- Taco HTML Edit - Give your web pages that zesty flavor.
- Taco HTML Edit - The icon no longer looks like poop.
