Raj had the idea for this build when a friend messaged him with a link about a Lego Christmas tree. This same friend had once given him a painted rock ornament with a nativity scene, made using a few simple paint strokes. That made Raj realize that a nativity scene could be depicted using simple shapes, and he had the idea for this microscale Lego Nativity Scene Ornament.
The ornament is very sturdy and can withstand some jostling. It can be displayed hanging on a tree or free-standing. It depicts baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, a sheep, and a goat. There is a very small, hidden Easter egg, only apparent while building, that’s amusing and perhaps has a spiritual lesson to it too. The star element is the printed tile that Lego used in its sets, “Tales of the Space Age” and “Rapunzel’s Tower & The Snuggly Duckling.” If that part is difficult to acquire, it’s possible to use a 1x1 black tile with a custom star sticker on it. In addition to the listed parts, some string is needed to hang the ornament.
